WEEKEND TOUR

Pushkin (Tsarskoye Selo)
Located some 12 miles (about 25 kilometers) away from St.-Petersburg, the ensemble of the Catherine's Palace, one of the former Imperial summer residences, and Park are among Russia's top historical recreation complexes visited by hundreds of thousands tourists every year. It is best to get away from the city's rush and noise and come to Catherine's Palace and see its magnificent interior and treasuries, including the famous Amber room, or stroll along the Park's alleys and paths. It is where you will find calmness and relaxing atmosphere.
Pavlovsk
The Pavlovsk Palace and park ensemble is located 13 miles (27 kilometers) away from St.-Petersburg. In 1777 Catherine II presented these lands to her son, the future Emperor Paul I, so that he could build his summer residence here. Another gesture of benevolence was sending him her favorite architect, Charles Cameron, who had already proved his worth at Tsarskoye Selo which was now compared to all that was best in Europe. The Pavlovsk Park is one of the pearls of the world landscape art. Each of the seven major park districts is marked with poetry, where the beauty of the northern nature is combined with exquisite skill of artists.
Peterhof
Peterhof is located on the southern shore of the Finnish Gulf 14 miles (29 kilometers) away from St.-Petersburg. Peterhof is a kingdom of fountains. There are 144 fountains, all operating without the use of pumps by a combination of naturally generated water pressure and magic. Each fountain is unique and once you step in the area of the kingdom of fountains you will be surprised by this splendid oasis, a reminder of the beauty that man can create. The history of Petrodvorets (called Peterhof until 1944) begins in 1704 when Peter I built a wooden house on the Gulf while overseeing the construction of the nearby Kronstadt Fortress. In 1713 he began transforming the area into an imperial residence. The palace was inaugurated in 1723 and later expanded by Empress Elizabeth
